In early spring European University was granted membership in the European Council for Business Education. Currently with 32 member institutions from around the world and 19 accredited member universities, ECBE was founded in 1995 as the result of a concentrated effort to organize a European professional accreditation organisation for business education. With offices in Brussels and in Chamby, Switzerland, ECBE is a non-profit organization that focuses on business education at the undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate levels while promoting high standards of excellence as well as lawful and ethical practices in the field.
ECBE offers its members continuous support in many areas, especially in the improvement of standards in business education, the fostering of innovation and creativity, the access to information through workshops on current issues in business education, as well as through consultation and publications that help members in the pursuit of or maintenance of accreditation.
The intensive accreditation program offered by ECBE requires that candidates meet strict guidelines and follow the recommended changes and developments set forth by the European Commission in accordance with the Treaty of Bologna.
