Visas and Residency

Before Arrival

Visas

European Union Campuses

A student visa is required for non-European Union citizens only.

Students from outside of the European Union should obtain detailed information about visas from their local embassy/consulate of the destination country. European University will provide students with a visa document, an enrollment certificate and admission letter that should be handed in to the embassy/consulate. We recommend that students apply to the European University at least 3 months prior to the commencement of the academic semester/term as the embassy will require the enrollment documents before starting the visa procedures.

Switzerland Campuses

All students (except European Union and American citizens), must follow the following procedures in order to obtain a Swiss student visa:

Upon acceptance of a new student, the administration will provide him/her with a document to be filled out and signed by the student and returned to the European University. With this document, the administration will start the visa procedure. In the meantime, the student is requested to go to the nearest Swiss Embassy or Consulate in his/her country to apply for the same. The student must provide the embassy or consulate with the certificate of acceptance in French (provided by EU together with the admission letter) as well as his/her passport. The embassy or consulate will also provide students with a form to be filled out and signed. This form will be sent directly by the embassy/consulate to the immigration authorities in Switzerland. Visas are normally issued within 1-3 months.

European Union and American citizens can enter Switzerland without a visa. The European University administration will provide the students with the necessary documents upon their arrival in Switzerland.
