BA - Bachelor of Arts in Communication & Public Relations

The Bachelor of Arts in Communication & Public Relations is a seven-semester, three-year program (240 ECTS). It covers a wide range of specialized subject areas including structuring public relations campaigns, media strategies and organizational communication and ethics, while addressing a range of communication and publicity concerns. It provides students with the advanced communication skillset they need to succeed in this fast-paced industry.

The first year comprises core courses to provide students with knowledge of the business world in which they will act. Specialized communication subjects, such as intercultural communication, innovative electronic communication, mass media ethics & legislation and mass media planning, are introduced in semesters three to five. In the sixth and seventh semesters, students focus solely on business management modules to equip them with key managerial concepts, theories and the tools necessary for leadership in today’s rapidly evolving world.

Students who successfully complete this program and wish to further their knowledge in their specialization may opt to take an additional eighth semester and earn a Diploma of Advanced Studies (DAS) awarded by Universidad Católica de Murcia (UCAM), Spain (título propio).

Students may also fast track their degree by taking summer semesters.

Learning Outcomes
 

This program provides students with an academic and professional education that prepares them for positions in public relations, advertising, marketing, communications and management. The public relations curriculum includes courses in publicity, research and negotiation. Through this program, students will:
