Last week, on Friday, September 11, 2015, the EU Alumni Association’s India chapter hosted an event in the Imperial China restaurant, part of the Hilton Hotel at Mumbai International Airport. A special menu was made for the evening. Gautam Daryanani, the India chapter leader, recently won the EU Family Business Award at our Munich Commencement Ceremony, for his work as the Director of Daryanani (Indo Saigon) Constructions.
Guests were greeted at the bar of the hotel where there was a drinks reception and an introduction of fellow alumni, partners and even the Secretary General of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Laura Prasad, who joined the event. Alumni came from as far as Chennai (over 1,000 kilometers away) and even returned the same night, showing a remarkable effort. The variety of industries that attendees came from is impressive; from an agricultural family business and online education to embroidery, there was a great blend of ideas and specializations.
It is very common for alumni to have a strong relationship between them, so for many, alumni events work as a way of catching up with old friends. As well as social talk, attendees discussed recent business trends, gaps in the market and personal achievements. Those who came enjoyed themselves and shared some wonderful memories of their time at EU Business School.
Alumni events are a fantastic opportunity to get in touch with old friends, make new contacts and attend a memorable social occasion. Active alumni chapters can be found in almost every corner of the globe and far from our European campuses, as seen in this event in Mumbai, India.
