A chilly Saturday night in January was the setting of the first EU alumni event of 2017. Thirteen alumni braved the snow to fill the latest alumni venue, the Hotel Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel in the city center.
The group was a diverse one. Recent graduates, who had moved or returned to Paris after their studies, sat alongside well-positioned professionals who had a wealth of experience and knowledge to impart. Regardless of their age or employment, everyone was eager to reconnect with the EU network. Some of our alumni told us that they hadn’t seen their colleagues in over decades!
As our alumni greeted each other, jobs, aspirations and positions were hot topics of the evening. But by the end of the night, the talk turned to reminiscing over their school years, while sipping on a glass of champagne. The night was a huge success for our alumni who swapped contact details and suggested that EU hold another meet up in the near future.
Our alumni were eager to know how EU has changed throughout the years. Luckily Maria Souza, EU alumni relations manager, was on-hand to answer any and all questions. Like, “when is the next alumni event going to be!?”
Towards the end of the evening, the dean of the faculty of tourism and hospitality management at Université Paris-Sorbonne joined the gathering. By chance, he was in the same venue having dinner and saw the merry group and wanted to find out more about EU.
Stay tuned for the next EU alumni event of 2017.
