We are excited to announce that Peter Brabeck-Letmathe, chairman of Nestlé will be visiting Barcelona on March 20, 2017 to discuss an important theme: nutrition, health and the impact of the food and beverage industry.
Brabeck began his professional career at Nestlé in 1968 and was elected member of the Board of Directors and CEO in 1997, a position he held until 2008. Brabeck also serves as vice chairman of the foundation board of the World Economic Forum and is a board member of many companies, including L’Oréal, Credit Suisse Group, ExxonMobil and Delta Topco Limited (Formula 1). He has also received several awards such as the Schumpeter Prize for outstanding contribution in disruptive innovation and the Austrian Cross of Honor, among others.
Brabeck’s special guest talk for EU comes after the successful launch of his new book, “Nutrition for a Better Life: A Journey from the Origins of Industrial Food Production to Nutrigenomics”. The book takes an in-depth look at the past and future trends in food and nutrition, relying on scientific evidence. It touches upon the unprecedented progress made in genetics, allowing us to understand human health at the biological level and highlights the responsibility of the food industry, policy and the individual moving into the future.
