Henry Sellheim and Anna Thell are two students at the EU Barcelona Campus. Their start-up, “Have a drink with”, aims to connect business students, creatives and companies at casual networking events. They recently hosted their first networking and presentation event in Barcelona.
Find out more about the fantastic ideas which were exchanged, the details that were traded and the drinks that were shared.
When was your last genius idea?
We all have them occasionally; those eureka moments where we all of a sudden see an old problem with a sharp clarity, or an exciting concept might leap out of nowhere at us.
The problem – we can all agree – is application. When we begin to think of the logistics or how to move ahead those ideas evaporate in a cloud of confusion, negativity and lethargy.

EU Students Getting Creative
Two EU Barcelona students, Henry Sellheim and Anna Thell, used their combined creative inspiration to spearhead a project which would attempt to help others unlock the potential of their own ideas.
On Thursday, October 1, Have a Drink With… hosted their inaugural event at L’Actiu Bar and Restaurant in Barcelona. EU were delighted to support the project, which brought together business students with an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for technology; the creatives that can facilitate the production of projects; and the companies that can finance and manage them.
The event was suffused with a collaborative and genial atmosphere, where 10 teams pitched their ideas and enjoyed networking with other like-minded students.
On Your Marks. Get Set. Innovate!
The format of the event was innovative and jam-packed in itself: 10 teams of business students were given the opportunity to pitch their innovative ideas for new mobile applications.
The conditions for entry were as follows:
- The team must have had a business idea for a mobile application
- The idea can be related to any industry and sector
- The team must be able to pitch its idea within four minutes
- The team must be able to pitch its idea in English
- To present a complete business plan or developed prototype is not compulsory but a plus
Innovative, inspiring and creative ideas were on show, and as the conditions for entry indicated, a number of industries and sectors were represented. The layout and format of the event lent itself very well to accommodating a relaxed and casual networking environment, where ideas could be discussed in further detail.
The atmosphere was relaxed and collaborative, befitting a meeting of young professionals in a cosmopolitan city such as Barcelona.
The organizers are using their social media platforms well to communicate developments with the projects, and you can keep up with them on their website, Facebook and Instagram. The awesome photos in this post were taken by Humbert Campins.
