One of the most anticipated events in the EU Business School<\/a> calendar, the annual Careers Fair took place on Friday, February 16, 2018\u00a0at the five-star Fairmont Rey Juan Carlos I in Barcelona. An exciting day laden with opportunities, EU students from all our campuses\u00a0had the fantastic\u00a0chance to connect with representatives from\u00a0world-renowned companies, learn from industry experts through talks and workshops, explore different career paths and present their CVs to top recruiters.<\/p>\n

Connecting with world-class companies<\/h2>\n

The annual EU Careers Fair\u00a0is renowned for the prestigious companies it attracts. And this year’s event certainly didn’t dissapoint with representatives and recruiters from leading\u00a0companies\u00a0such as\u00a0Nestl\u00e9, PageGroup, Schneider Electric, Sixt, Teleperformance, to name just a few, in attendance. Speed networking sessions enabled students to connect one-on-one with recruiters from these companies, find out what they are looking for in candidates and make a strong impression.<\/p>\n

Career advice from the top<\/h2>\n

The EU Careers Fair aims not only to connect students with companies, but also to provide\u00a0them with valuable insights and practical advice to help them on their career journeys. In this vein, the EU Career Services Department organized a series of\u00a0career talks and discussion panels\u00a0covering a wide range of industry sectors including finance, sports, communications and marketing. Students also participated in interactive workshops filled with group activities and exercises throughout the day. Workshops included Boosting your communication confidence<\/strong>, moderated by Holly Blondin, founder of Arts Meet Bizness<\/strong>, and Job interviews across cultures<\/strong>, moderated by Kim Daamen, <\/strong>Operations Manager at Abroad Internships.<\/p>\n

Getting inspired<\/h2>\n

Successful EU alumni who have gone on to excel in their careers after graduating from EU also joined us at the Careers Fair to share some words of wisdom with current students. In the discussion panel How to succeed in business – my story after EU<\/strong>, members of the EU alumni network including Thomas Ruschke, EMEA marketing development lead at Facebook <\/strong>and Alexander Valkovskiy, service segment manager at HP <\/strong>shared their EU experiences, career stories and provided some to tips on how to get ahead in today’s competitive job market.<\/p>\n

The exciting event came to close in the afternoon with a talk on careers in sports<\/strong> in which eager students got a deep insight into the fast-paced world of sports and found out what it takes to work in the industry.<\/p>\n
