It\u2019s brand\nvalues that really count.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Harvard Business Review suggests that brand loyalty is forged when you share values with your consumers. It\u2019s not the number of interactions that a person has with your business, but the relatability and value of each interaction that matters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By gaining a deeper understanding of your brand mission, and by communicating\nthese values to your target audience, you will increase engagement and catalyze\nthe success of your business exponentially.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here we explore actionable approaches you should take to help you establish a stronger brand voice and refine your organizational mission statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.euruni.edu\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/Brand_Mission_infographic.png\" alt=\"brand mission\" class=\"wp-image-27726\" width=\"784\" height=\"1909\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. <strong>Determine Your Golden Circle<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The concept of the Golden Circle was established by author <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Simon Sinek (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/simonsinek.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Simon Sinek<\/a>, who observed that \u201cpeople don\u2019t buy what you do, they buy why you do it\u201d. <strong>The Golden Circle thought model revolves around a simple set of three concentric circles, starting with &#8216;why&#8217; in the middle, leading to &#8216;how&#8217; and, finally, &#8216;what&#8217;<\/strong>. Your Golden Circle should form the foundations of your brand mission statement, establishing <em>why<\/em> your business exists. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To determine your Golden Circle, set some time aside to gather key members from your team and consider, in a collaborative environment, <em>why <\/em>your business exists. What was your motivation for starting the business? What problems are you solving? Who are you helping?Answer these questions and you will gain the clarity you need to establish your core brand mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you\u2019ve established the <em>why <\/em>of your golden circle, you should address the <em>how<\/em><strong>. <\/strong>How will you help your audience? How will you set about achieving your goals? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally, approach the <em>what<\/em>. <strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>What are you offering to your audience? What are the benefits?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you\u2019ve defined your Golden Circle, you will have a branding\nblueprint that will empower you to formulate meaningful strategies and make\ninformed decisions to evolve your business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. <strong>Understand your customers<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the age of digital transformation, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.euruni.edu\/blog\/data-science-impacts-business\/\" target=\"_blank\">we are literally swimming in data<\/a>. With an ever-growing number of platforms and touchpoints available (from social media to mobile apps, and beyond), <strong>there is endless potential for collecting the kind of metrics that offer invaluable insights into consumer behavior<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By leveraging data-driven tools like Google Analytics to understand\nthe needs and preferences of your customers on a deeper level, you will be able\nto fortify your brand mission. Understanding why you exist will allow you to\ndevelop a clear picture of your key consumer demographics, and your brand\nmission will become crystal clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. <strong>Write your mission statement or manifesto<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Armed with your newfound knowledge you can produce a definitive\nstatement. or manifesto, that outlines your brand\u2019s core mission, as well as\nthe values that will shape the direction of your business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Writing a mission statement is a lot like telling a story<\/strong>\u2014it\u2019s a narrative that you and everyone within your organization will use for guidance, and that customers will look to in order to understand if your values are aligned. You should segment your mission statement into a concise beginning, middle, and end, including these key elements:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Value:<\/strong> Outline the value of your business to both customers and\nemployees.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Inspiration:<\/strong> State why people should invest in your company, both as\nconsumers and employees. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Viability: <\/strong>Put your brand goals, aims, and values into a practical context,\nexplaining how and why they are achievable.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Specifics: <\/strong>Include information about your company culture and proposed organizational\nstrategies. Conclude the statement with a positive, motivational sign off.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you\u2019ve produced a definitive brand mission\nstatement you will be able to make more informed, value-driven decisions that\nwill set you apart from the pack. The next step is to put your brand mission into\npractice! Keep in mind that this is not a process you will go through once but that\nyou should revisit periodically, to ensure that your brand truth and your actions\nare still aligned.
