The expectations and outcomes are almost the same, and completing either will earn you the title of \u201cDoctor.\u201d So, what recommends one course of study over the other?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Well, that all depends on you. Let\u2019s take a look at what the DBA is, how it is different from a PhD, and all the reasons you might choose to study a DBA instead of a <a href=\"https:\/\/barcelona.euruni.edu\/\">PhD in Business Management<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is a DBA?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A DBA degree is a <a href=\"https:\/\/geneva.euruni.edu\/programs\/doctorate-geneva\">Doctorate in Business Administration<\/a>. In addition to holding a bachelor\u2019s and a master\u2019s degree, DBA candidates should also have demonstrable experience of working within a professional business environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The aim of the qualification is to advance your understanding of your chosen business sector (e.g., finance, marketing, etc.). It is a research project, assessed by the submission of a lengthy dissertation, which details the findings of your investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What is a PhD?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPhD\u201d stands for \u201cDoctor of Philosophy.\u201d You need similar qualifications to get into a PhD program as you do a DBA\u2014undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in a relevant subject\u2014but experience outside of academia is not usually necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/geneva.euruni.edu\/programs\/doctorate-geneva\">PhD<\/a> candidates conduct independent research and produce a dissertation that says something new and original about their field of study. Both require you to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Hold a bachelor\u2019s and a master\u2019s degree in a relevant discipline.<\/li><li>Conduct independent research on a topic of your choosing.<\/li><li>Produce a dissertation that progresses knowledge in your field of study.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The rewards are also very similar.
