EU Experience

All classes are taught in English.

The student body at EU Business School includes over 100 different nationalities and prestigious QS has consistently ranked our MBA program as #1 worldwide for internationality. Students gain true multicultural understanding at EU thanks to its diverse student and faculty body. In today's globalized business world, this is an increasingly sought-after soft skill by employers.

EU students come from all over the world and speak, on average, three languages. EU’s faculty, as well as having excellent academic credentials, are part of the international business community and draw on their own professional experiences as entrepreneurs, consultants and business leaders to support the learning and growth of students.

What’s more, EU is part of a global network of partner institutions with whom students can participate in exchange programs. These include Pace University in New York; the University of California in Riverside; Fisher College in Boston in the U.S.A.; Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM) in Monterrey, Mexico; and Stamford International University in Bangkok, Thailand, among others.

Established in 1973, EU Business School is home to around 3,000 students from all over the world. More than 100 nationalities are represented across our four European and digital campuses, with 98% of students speaking two or more languages. QS, the global university rankings guide, has consistently ranked our MBA program as #1 worldwide for diversity. This year, we were named #1 in Class and Faculty Diversity by QS Top MBA 2024.

The learning experience at EU is truly multicultural thanks to the diversity of our student and faculty bodies. In today’s increasingly global business environment, employers are looking for soft skills like communication, teamwork, and adaptability, which you gain from studying abroad/in an international setting. Our instructors, as well as having excellent academic credentials, are part of the international business community and draw on their professional experiences as entrepreneurs, consultants, and business leaders in the classroom.

EU students also have the opportunity to participate in exchange programs at any of our 85+ partner institutions around the world to further broaden their horizons. These include Pace University in New York, the University of California in Riverside, and Fisher College in Boston (USA); Tecnologico de Monterrey (Mexico); and Stamford International University in Bangkok (Thailand).

At EU Business School, we believe in experiential learning. We create plenty of networking opportunities for our students – including class visits to the headquarters of selected national and international companies, such as BMW, Tesla, Amazon, Nestle, and UEFA. During these visits, students learn how to put business theory into practice while networking with top management professionals and gaining insider knowledge of their chosen field. The connections you make here might help you secure a job with that company in the future!

Outside the classroom, students have the opportunity to interact with top industry experts at exclusive EU seminars and events, including our flagship Learning from Leaders conferences. Conferences, partnerships, and alumni events organized by our Careers Services Department also provide key opportunities for our students and graduates to meet and build strong business relationships with other professionals.

We also have an alumni network of over 30,000 former students located around the globe, which is open to all students. Via the Alumni Hub, current students have access to mentoring schemes, career opportunities, and networking contacts in new markets, provided by our alumni.

During your first week at EU, we organize an orientation week filled with fun activities including a tour of the campus city, a welcome party and campus tour. And activities run throughout the year. For example, you can join football and basketball teams, attend guest speaker sessions and visit top companies located near your campus for a privileged insight into how businesses really work. The student board also organize special activities which have includeed a popular international food day where students share the culinary delights from their countries.

If you wish to find out more about what you can do during your time at EU, contact your student counselor. He or she will be delighted to help you settle in and let you know all about the activities available to you.

You will also need to write a motivation letter explaining why you want to study at EU Business School to help the Admissions Department to get to know you.

Start dates and enrollment requirements vary depending on the program. To ensure you have all the correct information before starting your application, please visit the ‘Admission Process’ section of your course page. Enrollment is open year-round for maximum flexibility, and if your application is successful, you’ll join the next cohort for your chosen program. Foundation and bachelor’s programs have start dates in September/October, January, May, and July. Master’s and MBA programs begin in October, January, and March.

Students can submit their applications online, by email, or by post. Note that a 200 €/CHF non-refundable application fee applies, payable by money order, cheque, or bank transfer (please provide documentation alongside your application). Once you have sent your application, it will be reviewed by our Admissions Department, evaluating your application against a range of criteria, including academic achievement, test scores, extracurricular activity, personal experience, and leadership potential.

Our Admissions Team is on hand to help you throughout the process. You can contact them online with any questions or queries. To find out more about EU, we encourage you to visit our campuses, meet current students, and attend our classes and open day sessions.

Class sizes vary between programs and modules, but at EU Business School, we keep all our classes small as we believe it creates a more interactive and productive learning environment. Small class sizes allow for more individual attention, increased participation, and better communication between lecturers and students.

As well as having excellent academic credentials, every faculty member at EU Business School is an experienced business leader, entrepreneur, or consultant who has made a significant contribution to the international business community. With around 3,000 students and over 300 faculty, the student-to-faculty ratio is less than 10:1, compared to the 15:1 average reported by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development for member countries. This creates a more personalized learning experience, which is proven to have a positive effect on academic results.

Whether you choose to study at one of our city campuses in Barcelona, Geneva, or Munich, or enroll online, you will find that all of our campuses have been specifically designed to optimize learning and student wellbeing.

Our state-of-the-art buildings in each location feature light, airy classrooms, libraries and study spaces, and student lounges, where you can relax and socialize during free periods. The brand-new Osi Building at EU Barcelona, opening in Fall 2024, will also contain an auditorium for conferences and a cafeteria. At our Digital Campus, classes are delivered in real-time via an easy-to-use platform – and recorded to allow students to study in their own time or on the go.

For students with disabilities, all our campuses provide barrier-free access to learning, including wheelchair-accessible classrooms, bathrooms, and lifts (where applicable).

Student life is all about coming together. At EU Business School, there are lots of extracurricular activities on offer to help you get involved with our community and make new friends. During Orientation Week, we organize tours of the campus and the city, plus a welcome party where you can meet all your classmates. A busy program of events and activities takes place throughout the semester.

At EU, we’re very passionate about sports. Team sports are a great way to keep fit, make friends, and develop new skills. We organize official soccer, basketball, tennis, and volleyball teams for both men and women, coordinated by senior students or graduates. There are also pop-up training sessions for activities such as boxing and running if you want to try something different!

If sports aren’t your thing, don’t worry. There are all kinds of student clubs available across all our campuses, from chess to computing and everything in between.

Additionally, EU hosts a variety of events, trips, and team-building activities every term, giving students the opportunity to socialize and get to know their campus cities. Look out for city walking tours, skiing trips, festivals, themed parties, escape rooms, and much more.

What sets EU apart from other business schools is the international learning experience we offer. Our student body comprises more than 100 nationalities, with 98% of students speaking two or more languages. However, all classes and coursework (including assignments, lectures, exams, and your final dissertation) are delivered in English to teach students cross-border communication skills integral to a career in international business.

Another thing that sets us apart is our unique, hands-on approach to learning. Our faculty is made up of highly qualified academics, entrepreneurs, consultants, and business leaders with years of experience who use their expertise to bring theoretical business concepts to life in lectures. After being introduced to key business concepts in the classroom, students will have the opportunity to put that knowledge into practice and tackle real-world business situations through a combination of case studies, business simulations, and company visits.

Small class sizes create an interactive and productive learning environment and allow faculty to deliver personalized feedback to every student, helping them to realize their maximum academic potential. The average student-to-faculty ratio in OECD* member countries is 15:1, but at EU Business School, it is less than 10:1, which means you will get more contact with your instructors here than at other business schools.

Finally, the high academic standard of our programs, the achievements of our students, the quality of our faculty, and the diversity of our student body are all reflected in our rankings. For example, QS consistently ranks our MBA program #1 in the world for diversity – and we’re in the top spot again for 2024!

When you study at EU Business School, you know you’re getting a world-class education in a multicultural environment which will provide you with all the skills you need to pursue a career in international business.

*Spain, Germany, and Switzerland have all been members of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development since December 1960.

Our Programs

Yes, our MBA program with 11 majors can be studied part time. Exceptionally, given the current global health situation, we are also introducing part-time options for our bachelor's and master's programs  to provide greater flexibility in these challenging times.

At EU Business School, we offer 40+ programs from foundation to doctorate level across our four European campuses and online.

Our bachelor’s programs are designed to prepare students for careers in international business. The global business environment is constantly evolving, and this is reflected in our curriculums, which examine both traditional business models and modern trends to ensure students have all the skills and knowledge required to be successful business leaders.

If you have an interest in a particular sector, you can choose to specialize in, e.g., project management, HR, law, or marketing, or gain a broader understanding of business topics by majoring in BBA - Bachelor’s of Business Administration, BA (Hons) in Business, or BA (Hons) in Business Management.

Master’s qualifications build on the skills you’ve learned at the undergraduate level. EU’s master’s programs prepare students for careers in a specialized field of business, such as finance, marketing, and fashion and luxury, while providing a comprehensive understanding of key business concepts applicable to all sectors.

At EU, you can also study MBAs in International Business, Digital Communication, International Marketing, Global Banking and Finance, Entrepreneurship, Digital Business, and Sports Management.

It is possible to change programs or specializations under certain circumstances. This varies from program to program and between our campuses. Please ask your academic counselor for more information.

Yes. You need to submit your university transcripts and syllabus and inform us of the major you'd like to study at EU. Once all of your documents have been received, the academics team will evaluate your case and create a bespoke transfer study pathway for you.

Admissions

Yes. But please note that your acceptance offer will be conditional to the required results. Before starting the program, you will also need to submit the results from your English proficiency test.

Official exams such as IELTS, TOEFL and CAE have a validity of two years. You will only need to retake the test if yours is out of date. For students unable to take an official exam, we offer an internal EU English test that is valid when applying for our programs (although unfortunately not for BA Hons programs).

Yes, you can. But please note that your acceptance offer will be conditional to our receiving your diploma before the master's or MBA program starts.

No. However, if you have a high school diploma, are over 25 years old and have five years of managerial experience, you can access the Executive BBA program, which is a one-year, two-semester program. After completing the Executive BBA, students without a bachelor's degree can study one of EU's master's or MBA programs.

The visas and permits required depend on the program you will be studying at EU. You will find the information that applies to your program on the program page under the 'Visas and Permits' tab.

We’ve made the admission process at EU Business School as simple as possible. Students can submit their application online, by email, or by post. Specific admission requirements vary depending on the program, to ensure you have all the information you need to complete your application, please visit the ‘Admission Process’ section of your course page. However, generally speaking, candidates are evaluated on a range of criteria, including leadership potential, academic achievement, test scores, and extracurricular activities.

Enrollment is open year-round, and if your application is successful, you’ll join the next cohort for your chosen program. Foundation and bachelor’s programs have start dates in September/October, January, May, and July. Master’s and MBA programs begin in October, January, and March. This flexibility allows students to start studying at their earliest convenience.

Moving Abroad

As all our programs are delivered in English, students do not need to speak the local language for acceptance onto any EU program. However, knowing a few key phrases will help you settle in to your campus city. We recommended learning the local language so you are able to meet and converse with local people. Developing communication skills and building cross-cultural understanding is an asset for any aspiring businessperson.

During your first week at EU, we organize an orientation week filled with fun activities including a tour of your campus city, a welcome party and campus tour. We also recommend that you enroll in classes to learn the local language as this will help you to understand the culture of your new home, to feel settled and meet new people.

We recommend moving to your campus city a minimum of two weeks before your course starts. This will give you plenty of time to settle in and familiarize yourself with your new surroundings. All our campus cities are buzzing business and student cities. For this reason, we recommend you look for accommodation as early as possible. We provide a list of student residences and real estate contact details in our welcome booklet.

Yes, you can find out about upcoming open days and information sessions here.

Additionally, EU actively promotes internships with our corporate partners. Completing an internship relevant to your degree is a requirement for many of our postgraduate programs, including the Master in Management, Master in Digital Business, and MBA in International Business.

Our Career Advisors can also help current students and alumni find exclusive internship offers through our digital career center.

Moving to and Living in Barcelona

Barcelona is a safe city but, as in all major cities, pickpockets can be an issue. Please be mindful when taking public transportation and keep your belongings safe. Common sense should always be exercised. You can read more about moving safely to Barcelona on our blog.

You should plan for a living expenditure of around €1,000 per month for the duration of your stay, of which €400–€500 should be allotted for shared accommodation (at least €650 to live alone) and the rest for basic necessities and leisure time. Please note that these figures are averages and fluctuate according to the individual and the lifestyle they wish to pursue.

After successfully graduating from the EU Business School Barcelona campus, you may apply for internships at companies in Spain. If your internship is successful, you may be hired by that company to work full time. However, if you do not have European citizenship, the company is required to complete an application on your behalf to the extranjería/immigration agency and work authorities to obtain a working residence permit (also known as regimen general). This residency permit lasts two years and it needs to be renewed. However, as this process is often lengthy and expensive, it is not that common.

For further information and advice, please speak to your student counselor.

Moving to and Living in Geneva

Switzerland is recognized as one of the safest countries in the world. Geneva is very safe with little crime and there aren’t any ‘no go’ areas, but you should always use common sense. Please be mindful when taking public transport and be cautious after dark.

In Geneva, you should plan for a living expenditure of CHF 1,890 per month for the duration of your stay, of which CHF 1,100 should be allotted for shared accommodation (CHF 1,900+ for private accommodation).

Please note that these figures are averages and fluctuate according to the individual and the lifestyle they wish to pursue.

After successfully graduating from either of the EU Business School Swiss campuses, you have two opportunities to continue your career in Switzerland:

1. A company offers you a job. They either create a work permit for you or offer you a Commission Paid Business Introducer Contract. These routes apply to both paid or unpaid, full- and part-time work.

2. You prolong your studies by applying for another course in Switzerland. While studying you are able to work (with or without salary) in a company based in Switzerland. However, this condition applies if, and only if, the job is related to the subject studied by the student.

For further information and advice, please speak to your student counselor.

Moving to and Living in Munich

Germany has been recognized as one of the safest countries in the world, and our campus city Munich has the lowest crime rate in the country. Nevertheless, you should always use common sense after dark. You should be particularly careful with your personal possessions in busy areas, such as the main train station, airport and city center.

You should plan for a monthly living expenditure of €1,300 for your stay, of which €700-€800 should be allotted for accommodation and the rest for basic necessities and leisure activities. Please note that these figures are averages and fluctuate according to the individual and the lifestyle they wish to pursue.

After successfully graduating from the EU Business School Munich campus, you may apply for a Job Seeking Visa at the German Foreign Authority (KVR, Kreisverwaltungsreferat) that may be granted for up to 18 months. This visa allows graduates to look for a job that corresponds to their qualifications. (Section 20 para. 3 no. 1 Act on the residence - AufenthG). During the period that you have this visa, you may obtain temporary employment to secure your livelihood. Please remember that this type of residence permit cannot be extended for more than 18 months. When you have a job offer that corresponds to your qualifications, you may then apply for a work-based residence permit for the purpose of taking up permanent employment.

For further information and advice, please speak to your student counselor.

Studying Online

Online and on-campus courses convey exactly the same knowledge, with the same course breakdown, credits and resulting degree.

Lecturers review, grade and reply to forum posts on a daily basis. They also hold a live lecture weekly and allocate time to discuss issues on an individual basis.

Lecturers’ contact details are shared on the online campus platform Moodle, so that students can always reach them. The expected response time is 48 - 72 hours.

Yes, students are able to work either part or full time while studying at the online campus. However, we recommend that if a student works full time, they consider studying part time so they can gain the maximum benefits from their studies.

Working alongside your studies can be a great way to boost your finances and develop new skills for your CV. However, it is important to be realistic about how many hours you can commit to. Putting yourself under too much pressure is likely to have a negative impact on your performance.

If you’re studying full-time at one of our city campuses, we recommend not working more than 10-15 hours a week and ensuring your job is flexible enough to fit around your timetable. Students at our Digital Campus can work full- or part-time while studying, as all class materials are recorded via our online platform. However, we recommend that if a student works full-time, they consider studying on a part-time basis to get the most out of their studies.

Most activities are asynchronous and can be accessed and completed on the platform at any time. However, there is a set time each week to speak to lecturers and peers during live lectures. As all sessions are recorded, you needn’t worry if you miss a class.

Although it is not mandatory to attend the live lectures, it is highly recommended, as you’ll be able to ask questions and receive immediate feedback.

Our platform doesn’t require any special equipment and can be used on any device (PCs, laptops, tablets and smartphones). All you need to have is a reliable Internet connection. It is also highly recommended to have a webcam, microphone and speakers to participate fully in the live sessions.

Our programs are given on the Adobe Connect platform which we recommend you download. Adobe Connect has proven to be one of the best videoconferencing tools on the market for online learning since it is very interactive and intuitive. Many of the major leading business schools and online universities are using this platform given that it is accessible from all regions worldwide; many other systems are banned in regions across the world e.g. China, Belarus, Central African Republic, Iran, Lebanon and UAE. In addition, the privacy settings on Adobe Connect are more restrictive which ensures that the users’ data is protected and not shared with third parties. The EU Business School online campus has been using Adobe Connect over the last seven years.

Class participation is accounted for through discussion forums posts. Interaction is an important aspect of an online program and allows students to take advantage of the diversity of the student body – different academic, professional and cultural backgrounds bring great richness to the program and the student experience. The discussion forums serve as a platform for exchanging information, ensure engagement and participation and allow students to work around their daily commitments. There is also a lot of interaction with peers and faculty during live lectures. However, it is not mandatory to attend these live. Assessing participation through forum posts ensures students can participate in the most efficient way possible while enabling lecturers to grade their knowledge fairly.

Blending learning at the online campus with studying at a city campus is highly recommended and strongly encouraged in order to broaden students’ horizons and enrich their study experience. However, changing campus is only possible on a term/semester basis. You must spend the full term or semester at the campus at which you started it.

For our online MBA, students are required to attend at least one of our on-campus weeks. Students spend a week in one of our campus cities where they can network with peers and faculty and attend activities such as company visits for a heightened experience.

EU’s online degrees are equal to their on-campus counterparts. Your degree will be either a Bachelor of Business Administration or a master´s or MBA in the major you select, with no mention of online studies. You will receive the same degree you would receive if you were to study on campus.

Accommodation

A range of accommodation is available in each of our campus cities to suit different budgets and lifestyles; we believe that having a comfortable and inspirational living environment is an important part of any educational experience.

Before choosing where to live, you should think about whether you’d like to find a room in shared accommodation, a great option for anyone eager to make new friends, or find a private apartment, the perfect choice if you prefer to have your own space. This decision might be influenced by whether you are already familiar with the city and if you speak the local language. It is also advisable to research the different areas of your chosen campus city, to decide which is best for you. Things to consider include access to outdoor spaces like parks, proximity to the shops and campus buildings, and how well connected an area is to the local transport network.

We have compiled accommodation information for each of our campus cities to help you find the perfect new home.

For more information, contact our accommodation officer at admissionsservices.bcn@euruni.edu.

We often place students internationally, but the opportunities available depend on the student's sector, background, interests and the languages that they speak.

EU’s career services are available to all current students and alumni. The career services department offers advice to students and alumni to enhance their career prospects and ensure their job search is successful. What’s more, by joining our alumni community of over 30,000 professionals around the world, EU graduates can build a global network, find out about job opportunities with other EU alumni and meet a mentor who can support them on their career journey.

EU Business School has a dedicated Careers Services Department (CSD) to help current students and graduates at every stage of their job search. Throughout the semester, the CSD offers one-to-one advice sessions and organizes coaching and development workshops that cover a range of topics integral to career development, such as job selection, personal branding, and finding a mentor. In addition, students get access to exclusive offers on the EU career center platform and are encouraged to attend our annual EU Talent Day to connect with recruiters from large global companies.

EU Business School is well-regarded by recruiters and local companies. The average time it takes for EU students to land their first job after graduation is six months.

Even after you graduate, you’ll have access to the full range of CSD services. Our career advisors can help you: build your professional online identity, find exclusive internship offers, optimize and tailor your CV, write a cover letter, and prepare for your interview. Additionally, our conferences, partnerships, and alumni events give our students and graduates frequent opportunities to interact with professionals in their chosen fields. The CSD is well-connected to international businesses and supports an alumni network of over 30,000 graduates from all over the world. To find out more about what career services are available.

No, all students studying a specific program at a specific EU campus pay exactly the same amount in the local campus currency.

General Queries

An MBA offers fundamental business knowledge as well specialist skills in a specific business area while a master’s degree focuses more comprehensively on a particular discipline. To gain a deeper understanding of the difference, read this post on our blog.

There are myriad reasons to study abroad, whether at bachelor's, master's or MBA level. Familiarizing yourself with a new culture, communicating with students from across the globe and perhaps even learning a new language are all invaluable experiences that will cultivate the communication skills, adaptability and empathy that are essential in business. By moving to a new country to learn, you will take yourself out of your comfort zone, build a new network and discover a fresh perspective. Employers value these experiences; studying abroad can help you stand out from the competition.

GMAT and GRE scores are requested by many education institutions as part of the admissions process to MBA and master's programs. Each exam has a quantitative, verbal and written element to it, but questions vary. At EU Business School, we accept scores from either exam as long as they reach the required minimum. Alternatively, we look at a student's academic record and GPA. Please visit the admissions process tab on the webpage of the course you're interested in to find out the requirements for that program.

IELTS and TOEFL are both English language tests and we accept either at EU Business School as proof of your ability to communicate adequately in English. The IELTS test is administered in the U.K. by the University of Cambridge, whereas the TOEFL test is administered in the U.S.A. If you are used to speaking and listening to either British or American English, it makes sense to choose the test administered in that country as you will find the vocabulary and idiomatic expressions used more familiar. At EU, students may take EU's English-language test to be admitted to a program.
