EU Business School is delighted to present the 5th annual Les Rendez-Vous de Gstaad conference. Taking place on March 7 at one of the most renowned hotels in Switzerland – the five-star Gstaad Palace – the event brings together an impressive selection of guest speakers to discuss the most compelling concepts and significant developments in the business and economic worlds.

The organizing commitee comprises Phillipe Gex, who is also a member of the EU Business School board of trustees, Jean-Pierre Strebel and, this year’s roundtable mediator, Elie Vannier. Shaking the economy

This year’s event focuses on companies that are reinventing business models. From the decline of the traditional music industry due to online streaming services such as Spotify, the product market dominance of Amazon and the rise of blockchain, to the hospitality and transportation revolution kick-started by Airbnb and Uber, guests will dissect the fourth industrial revolution, analyzing the current seismic shift in business and its impact on society, while speculating on what the future holds.

Johann N. Schneider-Ammann, member of the Swiss Federal Council, will open proceedings at this year’s event. Guests speakers are: Nicolas Durand, CEO and founder of Abionic; Patrice Bula, Chairman and CEO of Nestlé China; Bernard Lukey, CEO of Yandex Europe; and Christopher Tucci, Professor of Management of Technology at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. The roundtable discussion will be mediated by acclaimed French journalist and member of the organizing committee, Elie Vannier.

Un bon repas doit commencer par la faim

Following the conference, speakers and invited guests will sit down for a gourmet dinner, giving them the chance to further discuss the themes of the day, before retiring for the evening, relaxing at the elegant comfort of the Gstaad Palace and taking in the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains.

A progressive legacy

This year’s conference continues a tradition of assembling distinguished leaders from a range of disciplines, including business, medicine, education and sport. Previous years have seen revered guests such as Chairman of Nestlé Paul Bulcke, SECO Director Marie Gabrielle Ineichen Fleisch, Co-founder of Médecins Sans Frontières Bernard Kouchner and Chairman of Roche and former CEO of Lufthansa Christoph Franz. With previous topics ranging from international event management in times of instability to the influence of media on society and the co-existence of optimism and realism, Les Rendez-Vous de Gstaad is becoming an important platform for exceptional people to deliberate on the key business ideologies of our time.

Keep up to date with all EU Business School events.
