4.8/5 - (5 votes)

On October 1st, 2015, EU’s new Career Center will be launched. This will be the only way to access the best jobs and internships from companies all around the world as well as exclusive offers from specially-selected partners. Read on to find out how it can help you.

An Important Decision Made Easy

We all know that a job hunt is a daunting task. Scrolling through hundreds of offers, drafting and editing that motivation letter that makes you sound like the only possible person for the post you want takes time and it is a necessary part of the search. EU’s Career Center makes the process as easy and as accessible as possible. Instead of having reams of texts to search through, there are many videos and career-related material, which make your searching experience far more enjoyable and career tips are on hand to keep you on the right track. Once you have a rough idea of the direction you want to go in, sign up for daily alerts on the positions which are relevant for you.

It is important to remember that your job hunt does not start after graduation. Those who plan their career from the beginning of their studies stand a much better chance at understanding different industries and getting a job they really want. The new Career Center offers many internships, which are a fantastic way of exploring the working world, strengthening your CV and increasing your options. Students often build a relationship with their employers during an internship, which gives them a great advantage over others who may have the same or even better qualifications. Any experience is a good one; even if you don’t like it, don’t look at it negatively – now you know what you don’t want to do, which helps you find out what you do want to do.

Finding the Right Career

The personalized search tools allow you to specify exactly what you are looking for in your career. From the type of contract, to the location and any relevant keywords; you can select your individual requirements, which is an essential part of finding something which makes you happy. CEO of Adecco, Patrick De Maeseneire listed his top-five job requirements as part of his career advice to EU students at the Barcelona commencement 2013.

Planning Ahead

Often you know what job you want, but can’t find the right company to work for. Maybe you need to be inspired by a company that shares your principles. The Career Center has profiles on many companies, outlining what kind of work they do, how they do it and the roles they typically recruit for. The service features a calendar of careers-related events, such as jobs fairs, conferences and advice sessions to keep you ahead of the game and in contact with potential employers.

We strongly advise you to make the most of this great service and be one of the first to access the opportunities on offer from October 1st.
