Louisa Carlse is a Senior Sales Manager at TecEx in her native Johannesburg, South Africa. She chose to study her MBA in International Business at EU’s online campus because it’s an internationally accredited course that’s well recognized and would allow her to excel in her career. It also offered her the opportunity to experience three different campuses, cities and countries, the opportunity to meet other international students from all over the world, and the flexibility to continue working full time.

What did you find was the biggest advantage of studying online?

Having the flexibility to work full-time alongside studying. In an age where time is money, it was exceptionally important to find a school that would allow me to further my education while continuing to work.

Can you tell us about your favorite aspect of studying online with EU?

My favorite part of studying at EU Business School was experiencing the amazing culture. Everyone from top management, administration, lecturers and students all made such a tremendous impression on me and I will forever be thankful for the lessons learnt and friendships made.

Can you tell us about any sessions, topics or speakers who have stood out so far?

EU Business School goes the extra mile to arrange phenomenal company visits and speakers from all over the world. One of my most memorable company visits was to Westwing where we had a very insightful discussion with one of their founders. It provided so much insight into how a business and brand is built from the ground up to become a multi-national company.

What tips can you share about maintaining a good work-life balance when studying at home?

Time management is extremely important for maintaining a successful work-life balance while studying. Set a fixed time aside every day to work on your studies and stick to it. It’s not an easy task but it’s definitely worth it.

What advice can you share about making the most of studying online?

Online studying holds multiple benefits. Possibly the most important is that it allows you to study in your own time. It allows you to manage coursework together with other responsibilities like work. It is important to choose a school that has an excellent support system and administration office. EU Business School is that school. It has the best support system and administration office, leaving you to only focus on what is most important – your studies.
