This mandatory course is designed specifically for all bachelor’s students in their second year of studies. The course acts as a guide and a practical stepping-stone to conducting real-world business and management research by teaching students how to design a real-world business research project. Students will be able to use the array of academic and transfer skills acquired in this course in their coursework; independent research; cases; business plans; and in their dissertations. The current course deals primarily with academic writing, authorship, referencing and bibliography, and contains a brief introduction to the EU Business School’s dissertation process

The "stock market" refers to the marketplaces where shares of publicly traded firms can be purchased and sold. These financial transactions adhere to a set of pre-set rules. The primary focus of this course will be the major stock markets. Studying the effects of financial markets, such as the bond and stock markets, is vital because they promote economic efficiency by redistributing funds from those who do not need them to those who do. Therefore, the healthy functioning of the economy, consumer and corporate behavior, and individual wealth are all directly influenced by financial market activity. This course aims to provide a basic understanding of the role that stocks, and interest rates play in our financial and economic lives, as well as a set of tools and techniques for evaluating companies and stocks.

Managerial accounting entails creating and interpreting accounting information designed to aid management in running a business. This information is used by managers to establish the company's overall objectives, evaluate performance, and make other managerial decisions. The first section of this course focuses on developing an understanding of fundamental management accounting principles, emphasizing the two distinct cost accounting systems. The second section will focus on budgets and master budgets, which are essential for the firm's planning and survival. The final section comprises understanding responsibility centers and transfer pricing.

The process of choosing and managing a group of investments to meet the long-term financial goals and risk tolerance of a client, a business, or an institution is known as portfolio management. This course will offer a clear framework for building and evaluating a portfolio as well as tracking its performance in the financial markets. In order to determine the best investment portfolio with the highest return at the lowest risk, students will learn to compare and evaluate investment portfolios using a variety of theories and methods. The second part of the course focuses on sustainable investing. Any investment strategy that chooses and manages investments using environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) criteria is considered sustainable investing.

Students will analytically review and frame two business cases, analyze their issues/problems, evaluate the options and the course(s) of action, and provide recommendations, solutions and justifications. In this course, students will be exposed to selected case studies in order to fully appreciate the nuances and complexity of business-based problem-solving. While studying different cases, students will be encouraged to think creatively, reflect critically, and design viable solutions. By doing so, students will enhance their logical, analytical, and decision-making skills.

This course deals with the complexities that confront businesses and organizations worldwide as technologies advance at breathtaking speed and threaten to replace jobs, roles, and responsibilities. Students explore the multiple considerations that management must take into account in order to effectively transform their businesses, while simultaneously staying competitive in their own industries. Specific issues that need to be addressed in order to determine optimal changes include levels of disruption, cultural perspectives, knowledge management, and a wide range of data analysis.

This course focuses on the concept of innovation as applied to leadership challenges. Students will study how innovative approaches can be applied to issues in fluctuating business environments. The course provides opportunities for discussion of design thinking techniques, with students gaining an understanding of how to apply innovative solutions to new venture creation and organizational transformation. Students will develop their skills in critical thinking, collaboration and strategy formation. The study of innovative organizational culture, together with the principles of partnership and future orientation, helps to promote an entrepreneurial mindset that is relevant across a variety of roles and industries.

The area of finance known as corporate finance focuses on how businesses handle issues such as raising capital, allocating that capital, distributing earnings to shareholders, and investing in various financial instruments. This course will teach you the fundamentals of corporate finance from a managerial perspective.   By focusing on the aim of maximizing shareholder value and understanding various strategies such as long-and short-term financial planning, issuing securities, leasing, mergers, and acquisitions, and financial distress, this course will teach you the basic principles and methodologies used in corporate finance, as well as how to apply those principles to financial decision-making.

How to build an empire in Real Estate? Real Estate is not cast in concrete; it is a science, almost a behavioral science, where people invest, to live, work, and gain.   It allows just that purpose, or to create and build large projects.   It may help to house the business workers, an old entrepreneurial dream that dates from before government took over after royalty – because real estate is old, hence beware, because laws are strange, and rules are strong. This course is an overview of real estate investment on an international basis with a review of the nature of different real estate sectors, the drivers of price fluctuations and the cyclical nature of real estate investment. Real estate finance is also covered within the legal structures of mortgages and liens over property and the risk and consequences of foreclosure. The course covers commercial, residential, and industrial real estate with a focus on purchase for investment rather than for personal or company use. Real Estate Investment Trusts, Pension Fund activities and other financial vehicles form an extended set of tools for the investor, where the asset allocation can be quite diversified.

In this two-part module students will explore how to plan, organize, motivate, and control resources to achieve defined goals, on time and to agreed cost and quality criteria. Using a consultative approach, students will be challenged to make decisions based on their own research to provide practical advice and solutions to real-life scenarios taking into consideration the organization’s constraints. They will liaise with employers, establish agreed objectives and present their findings in a clear, business-focused report and presentation.

This module seeks to develop an understanding of the emerging area of international entrepreneurship, and how that knowledge can be applied to a real-life situation. In recent years, international business and entrepreneurship have been coalescing into a single cognate area. Trading blocs such as the EU highlight entrepreneurship as an engine of economic growth and SMEs are becoming more international thanks to technological advances. At the same time globalization has prompted the re-emergence of local cultures which influence the growth of entrepreneurship in diverse ways. Creating an in-depth appreciation of these issues will enable students to apply theory to inform, evaluate and enhance potential international entrepreneurial ventures.

They will conduct a specific project through which they will learn the latest business and project management methodologies and tools, examine the main challenges faced by businesses, and apply this knowledge to make informed decisions. Students will develop their problem-solving, strategic-thinking and project management skills, essential for managing projects of all sizes, and learn to identify any gaps between realities and expectations and define possible approaches, options, and solutions.

The primary objective of the course is for students to explore the roles and responsibilities of leaders and entrepreneurs in the workplace and the development of theoretical approaches as well as their practical application. Students will analyze the skills, traits and competencies of effective leaders and examine alternative methods of leadership development. On successful completion of the course, students will be able to critically evaluate the roles and responsibilities of leadership; critique the challenges of entrepreneurs in contemporary business management; assess alternative theoretical approaches to leadership; and construct comprehensive business models.

In this course, students will learn to identify their own strengths, as well as areas where they could improve, in order to develop as confident future leaders. Topics covered include effective time management; learning how emotions can be interpreted and managed to create effective leaders and inspire teams; how to exhibit an accurate sense of self; how to apply a wide range of tools from several disciplines to solve problems effectively and creatively; select the correct negotiation style or strategy for specific situations; develop their business presentation skills.

Financial derivatives obtain their returns from an underlying factor, such as stocks, financial contracts, weather and/or credit losses. They contribute to the management of financial risk. Corporations and individuals can manage unwanted risks by using derivatives. This course will provide students with the tools, models and concepts of derivative-related financial instruments such as forwards, futures, indices, swaps, options, and synthetic ETFs. Students will understand how derivatives are used to achieve various hedging and speculating objectives and the course will also delve into a methodology for pricing derivatives.

This course introduces students to the practical procedures, models, tools, and skills required for a job in consulting or auditing. Management or business consulting is the activity of selling consulting services to companies with the goal of improving their performance or assisting them in any way in accomplishing their organizational goals. A financial audit is an inspection of a company's annual report by a third party that is not associated with the company. Many of the tools and techniques used to manage consulting projects are also beneficial for more specialized auditing services. This course provides students with a wide range of perspectives, resources and useful skills required for an entry-level consulting or auditing project in business organizations.

Fintech is the application of technology to financial markets. Fintech was made possible by technological advancements that made previously impossible products feasible. At the same time, many aspects of the financial landscape have changed due to fintech's innovations. As a result, numerous fintech startups compete with, and disrupt, established financial service providers. This course will introduce students to the world of fintech. The course introduces the technological developments that enabled the growth of fintech and explores its most important innovations and disruptions in the financial services sector. We will investigate blockchain, open banking, crowdfunding, robo-advisors, and insurtech, focusing on their impact on credit, investment, and insurance.
